BEA-utiful!!!!How lovely does this look? I simply love the pink colour. But I'm a little unsure about how hot the tin would get. I think a zero watt bulb would look best.. What say?

Felt Photo Frame

So it's been a crazy hectic past week.. But I still managed to make one little thing.. a felt photo frame.
You'll need
felt
scissors
embroidery thread
needle
plastic

Cut 2 pieces of felt the size you want the frame to be. Cut out a smaller square in one of the pieces, so you now have the front and the back of the frame. Glue the plastic to the hollowed out piece of felt and sandwich it between the two felt squares. stitch the two pieces of felt together. Make sure that the plastic is sandwiched between the two and that you leave The top not stitched to each other to be able to put a photograph in. But embroider just the top piece of felt for uniformity...

For the roses I cut two felt pieces in spirals and wound them tight and stitched in three pearl buttons.

Done!!!

Fabric-covered tins

Source: morenascorner.com
The problem with doing something like this here is the unavailability of some brightly-coloured pretty tins! Jars that stuff comes in are made mostly of plastic and I don't like using those since the plastic tends to hold on to the smell of whatever was in it. :-|... and I don't like plastic very much... But nothing's stopping me from reposting these utterly gorgeous tins... Simply love the fabric used

The thing to learn today is finger knitting! I'm learning something new EVERY day! Cannot wait for tomorrow! :)

DIY stamps

Source: linesacross.com
Stamping is something I really haven't tried my hand at... Not that I'm not interested, I just never took the time to learn it or appreciate it. But now looking at this I think I'm going to let LO go crazy with some stamping projects this weekend!

Yarn trivets

Source: fiberflux.blogspot.in
I love the pattern and the design the colours make. It doesn't seem like a beginner project, at least for me, since my crocheting skills are pretty much rudimentary... But I'm working on changing that since I want to be the one to teach LO how to knit, sew and crochet!

Tshirt yarn keychain

Source: craftsbyamanda.com
Tshirt yarn is in and I'd love to try making some but the guilt of cutting it up when someone who needs it can wear it seems a little too much, considering I live in country where no matter how badly stained the t-shirt or unusable by me there's always some who is so grateful for it :(... But I do like the endless possibilities of tshirt yarn craft. So while I will be most unlikely to cut up a tshirt that someone can wear, it won't stop me from admiring the lovely things people do with it!

Pearl collar neckpiece

Source: lc.pandahall.com
Collar neck pieces are in and there's always an easier more inexpensive way to get one. The store-bought are expensive!! Pearls are oh-so-classy. Check out this satin ribbon pearl neckpiece DIY as well.
There's a bit of work involved in this collar neck piece, but it's well worth the effort!

How to prevent ribbons from fraying

I hate it when that happens! Lovely satin ribbons getting ruined because they fray. Check out this simple way to prevent that!

Felt flower clip

So the weekend thing to do was felt flower clips. I cut a small circle and 4 larger circles from a sheet of polyester felt. Keeping the small circle as the base I folded each of the larger circles into quarters and stitched them individually in each quarter of the smaller circle. I then stitched a small clip to the base of the smaller circle to secure the flower.. Done!
